White Mountain Skin Care was the vision of Baptist Evangelist Dave Harper after the amputation of his right leg, just below the knee, caused by a MRSA- (Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus Aureus) infection in August of 2004. Understanding his need for quality products to help him maintain a healthy residual limb or stump he contacted his prosthetic provider for a recommendation of available skin care products. None could be found with-in the available amputee magazines being published at the time. Over 7-9 trade journals and magazine publications we consulted and there were no products specifically produced for the amputee. There are over 180,000 amputations preformed in the United States each year and Bro. Harper saw the need and began searching for formulations of a more natural approach to the skin condition problems many amputees faced and started the Limb Defense line of products.
Our products contain neither industrial solvents, nor harsh chemicals used as cheap fillers by many manufacturers nor do we use industrial pesticides to achieve bacterial control as some companies do. Instead we choose to use the finest all natural 100% pure essential oils available.
Our products have been found to help many people suffering from moderate to severe skin conditions and are beneficial to diabetics, psoriasis sufferers, and conditions such as rosacea, toe nail fungus, athlete's foot and dry skin patches and abrasions may be helped as well. Rashes, poison ivy, sunburn victims have also found relief from these afflictions. Our skin conditioner with tea tree oil also helps to ward off mosquito bites and itching according to our son David and his wife Lisa, they use it safely on our granddaughter Audrey when she has diaper rash and when they go hiking and any time they are outdoors.
